Terms of service

Last updated 4 September 2026

These terms cover the use of Vanish Logs. They are written to be read: plain language, no capitalised walls of text, and no clauses that contradict how the product behaves.

00Who these terms are between

Vanish Logs is provided by vanishdev (“we”, “us”). They apply to the organisation that subscribes (“you”) and to everyone you give access to. If you are accepting on behalf of a community or business, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live, to hold an account.

01What the service is

Vanish Logs receives events from your FiveM servers, stores them, and gives your staff a console to search and investigate them. What is included at each tier — monthly event allowance, how far back you can search, how many staff — is set out on the pricing page and forms part of these terms.

We may change or improve the product over time. If we remove something you rely on, or materially reduce what your plan includes, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused period.

02Your account and your staff

  • Access is through Discord. You are responsible for who holds the Discord roles you have bound to access, and for removing people who should no longer have it.
  • Roles can restrict a staff member to particular event categories. Setting those correctly is your call, not ours.
  • Ingest keys are credentials. Anyone holding one can write events to your organisation. Keep them in your server configuration and out of anything public.
  • You are responsible for what your staff do with what they can see. The console records who viewed what precisely so that this is answerable.

03What you may not do

  • Use the service to break the law, or to harass, dox or endanger anyone.
  • Send data you have no right to send, or use the service to build a profile of someone outside the operation of your own server.
  • Attempt to reach another organisation’s data, probe the platform’s isolation, or interfere with its availability. Security research is welcome — contact us first.
  • Resell access, or run the service on behalf of communities you have no relationship with, without agreeing that with us.
  • Deliberately flood ingest to exhaust the platform rather than to record genuine activity.

We may suspend an account that is causing damage to the platform or to other customers. Where it is safe to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

04Your data stays yours

You own your event data. We hold it to run the service for you. We do not sell it, mine it for advertising, or use one customer’s events to build features shown to another.

You can export your data from the console at any time while your subscription is active. If you cancel, export first — see section 07 for what happens after.

The privacy notice sets out the detail, including the split where we act as a processor for the player data your servers send us.

05Billing

  • Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown in USD; your card issuer may add conversion fees.
  • Event allowances are per calendar month. Going over is billed per additional million events rather than forcing an upgrade.
  • A trial gives you the full product for the stated period with no card required. It ends by itself; nothing is charged unless you subscribe.
  • You are responsible for any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are.

A failed payment does not stop your logging. We deliberately keep accepting events while a card is being retried, because cutting ingest over a bounced payment destroys exactly the audit trail you cannot reconstruct afterwards. We will email you, and if the subscription is ultimately cancelled or left unpaid, ingest stops at that point and your existing history stays searchable until it ages out normally.

06Availability and support

We aim to keep the service running continuously and to give you honest visibility when it is not — including telling you when one of your servers has stopped sending logs.

We do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service credits on these standard terms. Saying otherwise would be a number we have not committed the infrastructure to meet. If you need one, talk to us about a written agreement.

Support is by email and Discord on a best-effort basis during working hours. We prioritise anything involving data loss or a security concern.

07Cancellation and deletion

  • You can cancel at any time. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for; we do not refund a partial month except where section 01 applies.
  • After cancellation, ingest stops accepting new events.
  • Your data is retained for 30 days after the subscription ends so you can reactivate or export, then deleted. Ask us and we will delete it sooner.
  • We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 03. Except where the breach makes it unsafe, we will give you the chance to export first.

08Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or goodwill. In particular we are not liable for decisions you make about your community based on what the logs show — moderation is your judgement, and the record is evidence rather than a verdict.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

09Changes to these terms

We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of a material change, in the dashboard and by email. Continuing to use the service after it takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, cancel before then and we will refund the unused part of the period.

10Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory rights you have where you live.
